Corporate display maintenance

Running water creating key focal points within the architecture of a building. Currently glass and steel is in high fashion and these materials lend themselves perfectly to water feature design. Most architectural water features are variations of water walls and reflection pools. We can also design jumping jet arrays and indoor streams. below are a few examples of our work with water indoors. Although naturally, we always enjoy a new challenge.

Indoor stream at York St Mary's church York. A flowing indoor stream, designed to carry candles from one end of the church to the other. The display is only temporary and the brief was to ensure it would not damage the 1000 year old building. The organisers have now decided to keep the structure in place for a second term.

This is one of two identical water features for the Carlton Bingo chain. Our pump and filter solution had to ensure clean and hygienic water flowed through the system and the water had to be distributed in such a fashion as to move 75 thousand litres an hour down 5 glass screens without splashing. We used particle and UV filters to ensure the best water quality so not to risk clogging the self levelling distribution weirs above.

Thomas Cook HQ Peterborough - On the left is a steel mesh some 6m tall by 5 metres wide. The challenge was simple. Drip water down the entire surface of the mesh so it drains though a 3/4" wide slot in the floor. After many many hours in the workshop we found the right mesh and the right flow rates. A year later we installed the feature on the right as weather cage. Built within a call centre the roof was removed above and new glass screens put in. The pool is automated to maintain a constant water level in any weather and is capable of creating mist and rain effects.
